You will:
Build and manage a team of backend and mobile engineers to deliver a broad range of software for an innovative new global product
Lead technical strategy for this new product area
Grow your organization to meet launch goals - and to help define what comes next for Square's crypto-enabling hardware and infrastructure
Guide your team through the ambiguous and dynamic environment that comes with working on nascent, forward-looking products
Use your technical expertise to cultivate balanced engineering decision-making and sustain high engineering standards on the team
Contribute to and shape our transparency and engagement with the public
Work with a range of partners in hardware, legal, and business roles across Square, Square Crypto, and the external community
Qualifications
You have:
8+ years of engineering great products and services, with 2+ years building and leading software engineering teams. Great candidates are more likely to have 10+ and 5+, and to have led distributed teams
Deep prior technical experience shipping production services in at least one component of the stack (preferably mobile or backend) - and exposure to the others
Experience leading with empathy and transparency
Preferably, familiarity with bitcoin internals and experience developing software for cryptocurrency applications
