As a US-listed company, Sportradar reports on internal control over financial reporting under SOX 404, with controls audited by independent external auditors under PCAOB standards.

In this role you own the end-to-end accounting for internally developed software, ensuring compliance with IFRS and SOX internal controls, and drive process improvements. You work closely with FP&A, the Data Office, Engineering and other Accounting functions.

Your responsibilities

Capitalization assessment

  • Confirm the capitalization approach, approve One-Pagers and set project codes and capitalization start and end dates in the tracking system (Jira)
  • Monitor capitalization end dates of active programmes and review extension requests

Accounting and reporting

  • Prepare and post software capitalization journal entries and accruals, recording actual capitalized effort and external costs
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner
  • Assign useful lives to completed assets and monitor programmes for impairment and write-off
  • Establish annual wage rates for capitalization together with FP&A
  • Perform the annual review of unfinished and fully amortized programmes and prepare related disclosures in the annual 20-F
  • Opportunity to work on other ad hoc accounting projects as time permits

Controls and compliance

  • Perform SOX sign-off on capitalization approvals and retain final documentation in AuditBoard for SOX testing
  • Ensure capitalization processes and accounting practices are consistent with company policies, controls and country-specific requirements
  • Support internal and external audits with the required documentation
  • Partner with FP&A, the Data Office and Engineering to resolve discrepancies
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • 5+ years in an accounting / finance position or at a Big4 firm
  • Experience designing, implementing and documenting policies, controls and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS / GAAP, particularly IAS 38 Intangible Assets
  • Prior SOX experience (must)
  • Financial reporting experience; experience in a publicly listed organization is a strong plus
