SENIOR C++ SOFTWARE ENGINEER (m/f/d) 

Sports Virtualisation

Sportradar‘s Sports Virtualisation unit develops innovative and disruptive technologies to enable the transition from traditional sports media consumption to new ways to engage with sports. The latest computer vision technology is key to allow real-time rendering of statistics and virtual ads on top of broadcasts. It also enables the use of skeletal tracking data to render virtual recreations of sports events and transform the way they are experienced. Together with the top leagues and federations around the globe, we are working on our vision for a range of products to increase fan engagement for the world of tomorrow. 

We are looking for you to fill the role as Senior Software Engineer to join our team of talented C++ developers and 2D/3D artists to create engaging products using Unreal Engine 5.6+. Through the availability of skeletal tracking data of live sports events completely new products can be produced which use game engine technology in non-standard ways. Generating live streams from cloud-based setup by transforming and distributing live skeletal tracking data to be used to create interactive virtual matches or high-quality clips. 

THE CHALLENGE: 

  • You will support our international team of C++ developers and designers in exciting projects as well as doing maintenance and stabilization of running systems 

  • Your code integrates high-performance C++ techniques with Unreal Engine’s rendering capabilities to push the boundaries of real-time broadcast graphics. 

  • Generalize functionality into modules that can be reused in multiple / future products 

  • share knowledge and experience with the rest of the team 

  • support and guide junior developers and non-developer members of the team 

  • In projects you plan and develop new features together with the team with C++ or other programming languages. 

YOUR PROFILE: 

  • Degree in software development, or other relevant experience. 

  • 3 years of experience as a software developer, either professionally or in personal projects. 

  • Excellent knowledge in object-oriented programming languages like C++ and Python 

  • Interest for or experience with Game Engines  

  • The extension of complex and performance-optimized software challenges you 

  • For you, strong teamwork and communication skills are not just empty phrases 

  • You have a good command of written and spoken English 

  • Continuous personal development is a matter of course for you 

NICE TO HAVE: 

  • Knowledge of AWS services. 

  • Experience with Java or C++ Testing Frameworks. 

  • Willingness to practice TDD and pair programming. 

  • Experience with Live Streaming tools and technologies, e.g. FFmpeg, HLS, DASH.
