Job Description Overview

The Consolidation and Reporting Specialist will report to the Director of Corporate Accounting Policy. This role involves managing the consolidation process for multiple entities, providing technical accounting guidance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role will also be involved in establishing and maintaining group consolidation policies and procedures, and play a critical role in the annual and quarterly financial close process. There are no current plans for direct reports for this role, however the role requires collaboration cross-functionally with the accounting and finance departments, and the wider organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consolidation accounting, comprehension of technical accounting and financial statement presentation, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.  

The Challenge

  • Perform timely consolidation procedures (e.g. system interfaces, uploads, FX inputs, intercompany eliminations, confirmation rules, etc.) across multiple entities to ensure global consistency and reliability of financial data.
  • Prepare topside consolidation manual journal entries with sufficient underlying support and documentation.
  • Support development of consolidated financial reports and other related analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for FICO master data maintenance including, but not limited to, the following: general ledger presentation mapping, cost centers, segment, regions, etc.
  • Update and provide guidance and other related resources to ensure consistent application of FICO master data in both the ERP and consolidation systems.
  • Have a strong understanding of change management controls as well as other related financial statement close and consolidation controls to ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Complete consolidation and FICO master for merger and acquisitions related projects upon occurrence.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, working closely with IT and external vendors as needed.
  • Support internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Implement best practices and automation solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • As needed, complete other financial statement close projects to help drive global consistency (e.g. balance sheet reconciliations, manual journal entries, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is required.
  • As an ideal candidate, you bring over 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in an accounting role, Big 4 experience is a plus
  • Ability to problem solve with deductive reasoning, manage multiple competing priorities on a regular basis, and meet deadlines without sacrificing the ability to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Onestream and Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and experience with financial reporting for a US-listed company and consolidations.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
