Software & embedded systems Engineer for Computer Vision Team 

At Sportradar, we are building a world class, cloud-native, low latency computer vision inference pipeline to bring computer vision workloads to production as one of the core technologies powering Sportradar's sports data collection.  

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer in Europe to join our computer vision and data science research & development team to support our computer vision developments and help us bring this emerging technology to production as one of the core technologies powering Sportradar's sports data collection in the future.

Computer Vision is transforming sports data collection processes, providing a 100-fold increase in the depth of statistics and data available.

About the role 

We're looking for an addition to a group of highly experienced engineers in the Automated Capture team as a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer. Working closely with engineering teams to foster a strong culture of collaboration, system development lifecycles and infrastructure as code practices.  
 
Through the use of AI and patented algorithms, Sportradar's Automated Capture System films and live streams high-level sporting events from all over the world without any human interaction. Develop and support high quality digital solutions, with a focus on building operational awareness, supporting configuration management and ensuring quality.

Some of the activities you will be involved are: 

• Design, develop, and maintain software for embedded camera systems built for computer vision applications  

• Contribute to the development of new hardware by 

• Designing and testing prototypes of devices 

• Assessing and collaborating with hardware suppliers and external contractors   

• Work with cross-functional teams to define architectural designs and implement software requirements  

• Design, develop and maintain software platforms that support AI based computer vision solutions. 

• Improve and extend capabilities of Sportradar’s Automated Capture technology 

YOUR SKILLS: 

• Excellent understanding of how code and data stream through the CPUs and GPUs. 

• +4 years of industrial experience in GPU programming using CUDA for signal processing, image processing or any similar applications. 

• Experience with GPU/CPU performance profiling. 

• Experience in writing C++ Computer vision and/or Image processing Algorithms.  

• Experience in OpenGL/OpenCL 

• Strong Data structures and Algorithms know-how with Excellent C/C++ programming skills. 

• Aptitude for software design 

• Experience with concurrence applications (asyncio, multithreading, multiprocessing). 

• Comfortable with modern software development methodologies such as agile development, Git, code review, etc 

• Autonomous, creative, and a team player 

• Fluent in English (written and spoken) 

• Willingness to learn new technologies 

• Ability to work with the team across multiple locations 

VALUED ADDITIONAL SKILLS 

• Experience with cloud services such as AWS 

• Experience in Nvidia Deep Learning Accelerator Platforms 

• Experience in the machine learning environment 

• Experience in digital electronic design
