Job Description
This integral member of the Spencer team will be responsible for the facilitation of international and domestic shipments from suppliers to warehouses, inventory management of Spencer materials at the warehouses and facilitation of outbound shipments from our warehouses to destinations. Additionally, the logistics manager assumes responsibility for the management of 3PL partners and will track and report performance metrics about the supply chain to upper management on a weekly basis. The expectation is that the logistics manager will purposefully strive to improve efficiency, manage costs, and optimize the processes of our supply chain. Additionally, this position will assume responsibility for the execution of the Spencer logistics strategy in support of clinical and commercial trials. This position requires an extreme sense of concern for customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing inventory including at international forward stocking locations
- Manage 3PL partnership and performance.
- Reporting to upper management
- Coordinating traffic schedules
- Material handling
- Improving the efficiency of the company’s supply chain
- Resolving customer service issues
- Negotiating costs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Supply Chain related field.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience managing shipping through a 3PL as well as through direct shipping.
- Experience with warehouse management and associated processes.
- Experience with Customs clearance and international shipping requirements.
- Familiarity with using ERP software for inventory and logistics management.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement tools
- Very comfortable working with Excel.
- Ability to read, understand, and execute job functions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
PREFERRED
- NetSuite familiarity
- Logistics Management certification or Supply Chain certification preferred.
- Start-up experience
