Job Description

The Director of Commercial Pharmaceutical Programs is responsible for owning Commercial Pharmaceutical Program Management.  This individual and their department will be responsible for Developing and implementing project plans focused on the integration of Spencer Health Solutions in the commercial pharmaceutical markets and the management of sponsor relationships which includes the preparation, monitoring, updating, and communication of the project plans and project performance to stakeholders.  This is a position that will function as the primary oversight for programs awarded to SHS and works cross-functionally throughout the entire Spencer organization to keep our programs on track and communicated appropriately.  This function shall also own Pharmacy Program Management & Sustaining Operations, Patient Recruiting, Strategic Partner Identification and On-Boarding and other Client / Patient / Pharmacy Operations, Programs and Services related activities in support of a Spencer’s global commercial pharmaceutical and pharmacy partnerships.  This role reports to the COO.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Program Management

  • Manages full scope of projects for Spencer’s commercial programs including project team leadership and project and operational oversight.
  • Interface with Client’s Operational teams and 3rd party / internal SHS teams to deliver Programs on-time and Program results in accordance with contractual obligations and client expectations.
  • Develop, deploy, operationalize, validate, and sustain tools and processes.
  • Focus on quality deliverables for contracted services and play a key role in the evolution of SHS expanding capabilities and overall brand.
  • This position is critical in the establishment of key performance indicators, employing and evaluating the data from these metrics and serving to find solutions and interventions in collaboration with the leadership team

Pharmacy Operations & Management

  • Manage Pharmacy Partnerships from initial relationship identification through contracting, on-boarding and on-going performance and satisfaction.
  • Embed team in upstream patient acquisition processes to ensure patient recruiting and on-boarding meets acquisition and initial on-boarding performance targets.
  • Lead team through pharmacy integrations, globally.
  • Optimize spencer integration into global pharmacy operations to ensure high-quality cost-effective solutions are deployed.

General

  • Responsible for developing budgets, timelines, and quality guidelines for projects
  • Responsible for building and maintaining positive client and partner relationships
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize processes and execute projects to deliver associated tools and updated processes.
  • Define a strategy to scale the Department while making the Program Management Service provided a global product differentiator.
  • Drive core strategic initiatives and quarterly Priority projects with relevant groups and partners, creating an effective environment for exchanges and decisions on both near and long-term directions.
  • Manage strategic pharmacy partnerships and key projects with SHS Commercial Leadership team.
  • Provide executive level summary reports and dashboards, inclusive of achievements, upcoming milestones, schedule blockers and points of escalation.
  • Present scenarios, options and tradeoffs that enable efficient evaluation of alternate options for delivering results.
  • Management oversight over direct reports, being able to assign work, oversee performance and inspire personal development.
  • Customer advocacy; including pharmacies, partners, and end-users
  • Develop, implement, review, and react to metrics targeted at Patient Experience, Program Performance and /or Department effectiveness.
  • Interface with multiple SHS functional areas to enhance the customer experience
  • Develop, implement and review Customer Satisfaction Surveys.
  • Up to 25% travel, necessary for Pharmacy Operations, Pharmacy Account Management, Key Program Presentations or Strategic Partnership Development, including international travel, as required.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in relevant Sales or Operations Leadership roles
  • Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science or Engineering; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams in a relevant medical or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy tools that enable Operationalization and Automation of Workflows
  • Experience building relationships and collaborating with internal and external customers to synthesize complex ideas, information, and options into a strategy, plan, or response.
  • Effective communicator that can translate Concepts and Ideas into detailed Plans.
  • Exemplary attention to detail with the ability to identify prescriptive actions and provide specific directions.
  • Ability to motivate teams while keeping them accountable, without always having direct reporting oversight.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; bias towards making decisions that are grounded in data and user analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in a business environment, along with a proven ability to prioritize, organize and deliver on commitments.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in deploying and utilizing ERP / CRM / PMS tools effectively
  • Experience working directly with both marketing and client services/support teams to develop client relationships and program implementation plans.
  • Willingness to roll up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to ensure a great customer experience.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute job functions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
