Job Description

No IT team is complete without a Linux expert. As a specialist, you’ll ensure that Linux environments run smoothly and securely across various distributions like Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, and Red Hat. You’ll leverage automation tools such as Ansible and containerisation platforms like Docker and Kubernetes. Your responsibilities will include managing servers, configuring system services, and ensuring security through firewalls and SELinux. With your deep knowledge of system administration, shell/bash scripting, and network management, you’ll handle complex IT infrastructures, troubleshoot issues, and optimise system performance—making you an invaluable asset to any IT team.

Keeping our systems running smoothly and optimally will be your ultimate goal as our Linux System Engineer. Your days will consist of automating and maintaining our systems as well as developing scripts that optimize our infrastructure and align systems to always serve our business goals. You’ll use your expertises to drive digital transformation. Our goal is to build reliable and cost-efficient systems. As a Linux System Engineer, you’ll make it happen by designing, implementing, and supporting scalable environments and streamlining deployment processes.

You’ll have knowledge and experience of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant equivalent
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in Linux system administration
  • Experience with: Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS, SUSE, ...
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation: Perl, PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ruby, PHP
  • Familiar with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
  • LPIC or RHCSA certification is a plus
  • Knowledge of Windows servers and DevOps (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Fluent in English and Dutch/French
