Job Description:
Project Manager (Infrastructure Management) -- This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of infrastructure projects and transition that support the organization's/client’s operations, enhance its technological capabilities, and contribute to its strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Project/Transition Planning: Develop detailed project plans outlining the scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budget requirements for infrastructure projects.
- Team Management: Coordinate cross-functional teams, including infrastructure engineers, network administrators, system administrators, and other stakeholders, to ensure successful project execution.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, clients, and external vendors, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and procurement activities, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and dependencies associated with infrastructure projects and develop mitigation strategies to address them effectively, ensuring project success and continuity of operations.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes and standards to ensure that infrastructure projects meet the organization's requirements, industry best practices, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Change Management: Facilitate change management processes to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth transitions during the implementation of new infrastructure solutions or upgrades.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor project progress, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare regular status reports for stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement. Assimilate reporting across the portfolio of projects and provide regular reporting to Senior Stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and optimization within the infrastructure management function, driving efficiency and innovation.
- Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate knowledge transfer and documentation of project insights, lessons learned, and best practices to support organizational learning and future project success.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Essential
- PMP certified
- ITIL, Safe, Agile Certification
- In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure components, including networking, servers, storage, virtualization, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. Familiarity with infrastructure technologies and tools
- Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or a hybrid approach. Ability to develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies. Strong risk management and problem-solving skills to anticipate and address project challenges effectively.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional project teams and delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
- Effective communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in negotiating and influencing stakeholders to gain consensus and support for project initiatives. Strong conflict resolution and decision-making abilities to handle disagreements and make timely, well-informed decisions
- Understanding of business processes and how technology infrastructure supports and enables them. Ability to align infrastructure projects with organizational/clients goals
- Willingness to stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in infrastructure management and project management. Ability to adapt to changing business requirements, priorities, and technological landscapes.
- Experience in managing relationships with external vendors, service providers, and contractors involved in infrastructure projects. Proficiency in contract negotiation, vendor selection, and contract management to ensure compliance, quality, and value for money.
- Experience in handling bid process/ be a transition counterpart during RFP’s & bids/ transition solution experience in devising plans, costs etc.
- Experience of leading large-scale migrations and technology roll outs in large-scale IT programme delivery
- Familiar with standard office tools (notably MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint), as well as MS Project Professional
- Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
