Job Description
- Experienced in Middleware administrator, specializing in IBM WebSphere Application Server as an L3.
- Having experience in Install, configure, and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Apache HTTP Server with managing full lifecycle of middleware systems
- Lead the deployment of applications on WebSphere, ensuring seamless integration and efficient application delivery.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot deployment-related issues, optimize configurations, and automate deployment processes.
- Monitor middleware environments for performance issues, conducting tuning and optimization to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Perform capacity planning and performance analysis to meet application performance requirements and business objectives.
- Implement and enforce security measures across middleware environments, including SSL/TLS configuration, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Familiarity with database technologies is a must e.g. PostgreSQL, Db2, Oracle, MySQL, , with the ability to perform database-related tasks and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell scripting with ability to manage the automations and maintenance to be updated via scripts.
- Work with security teams to identify vulnerabilities, apply patches, and ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
- Manage and resolve critical incidents, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and timely issue resolution.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for middleware environments to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Regularly test and validate backup procedures and disaster recovery plans to maintain system resilience and availability.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of middleware configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and change control processes to coordinate and implement middleware updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Strong understanding of API design principles and experience with API management and integration solutions.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent solutions to prevent recurrence.
Required Certifications:
- IBM Certified System Administrator
Desired Skills:
- Willingness to work in 24x7x365 environments to support critical operations and respond to incidents as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server, Oracle Certified Professional, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Microsoft AZURE Cloud certifications) are advantageous.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and certification preferred to ensure adherence to industry best practices and service management standards.
- Worked on AWS cloud environment and services.
