Job Description

Linux System administrator should have experience in Installation and configuration of linux-based Operating Systems (RedHat RHEL 7.x & 8.x, SUSE SLES 12.x & 15.x, Oracle and Open-source Linux etc.)

Administrators is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting. 

Linux servers, networks, applications and Virtualization platform such as Xen-Hypervisor, OVM and VMWare etc.

Administrators implement Linux, SUSE and PaceMaker Cluster server configuration, which includes installation of all standard plugins, configuration. 

Administrators need to have experience in handling LVM, NFS, CIFS and SMB permissions.

They need to have the capability to build multiple Linux-base servers with Cluster and Patch installations (Satellite/Foreman, or any third-party tool) upgrade the OS version and maintain intel-based hardware Servers.

Candidates need to have knowledge of SUSE Manager SMT (Subscription Management Tool).

Understanding of GIT and Ansible Tools, Perl, Phyton/ Bash scripting.

Monitor systems, validate the integrity and accessibility of all server resources, hardware, systems, and key processes. 

OS troubleshooting RedHat Operating System 6.x and 7.x Configuration, up-gradation and migration. 

They need to review system and application logs, Administrators create, maintain and update documentation. They also need to hardware upgrades, performance tuning, and resource optimization.

Strong experience in designing, deploying, and supporting PaceMaker Cluster. 

Understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.

Good Communication, Problem Solving and Root Cause analysis skills.

Hands on experience with Linux (RedHat 7.x, 8.x or Suse 12.x & 15.x)

Installation and configuration of OS (RedHat, SUSE, Open-source Linux).

Unix security, Openssl, ssh, scp, ldap, iptables, tcp wrappers, syslog etc.

Logical Volume management, Storage management (NFS, GFS)

Installation and Configuration Nagios (Monitoring System), Squid (proxy Server), DNS, and Ldap. 

Knowledge of Scrips Shell, Ansible, Perl / phyton.

Patching Management procedures and Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure.

Familiarity with various hardware architecture (HP, IBM, DELL Servers).

Mandatory: -

RedHat RHEL 6 or 7 Certification Must.

 

SUSE LINUX. - OS

Deploy VM using Templates/ISOs.

Perform Admins tasks on SUSE LINUX VM’s across multiple distros 

Work in LVM and system performance analyzing tools.

Managing Physical Linux servers.

Perform periodic patching (Manually / Automated through SMT)

Work on Ansible to do repeated tasks.

Work on Foreman/Satellite server as central repository servers.

 

Oracle LINUX – Virtualization.

OVM configuration and management.

Manage OVM clusters and hosts in it.

Patch/upgrade OVM and OVM manager.

Manage VM’s on OVM and perform Live migration if required.

CPU pinning if required in case of Oracle License requirements.

 

Total Experience Expected: 08-10 years

B. E/ B.Tech/ MCA
