Job Description

The Product Development Team manager is responsible for leading the execution of enterprise SSD product programs, with a primary focus on New Product Introduction (NPI) and revenue-generating programs. In this role, the Product Development Team Leader (PDTL) oversees the end-to-end product development process, provides leadership to the cross-functional Product Development Team, and drives alignment across key stakeholders to ensure successful program execution. The PDTL serves as the business and operational leader for the product, with accountability for program delivery, cross-functional coordination, issue resolution, and executive communication. This role also acts as the primary interface to senior leadership and key stakeholders, ensuring program objectives, schedules, risks, and priorities are clearly communicated and effectively managed throughout the product lifecycle.

Leads a highly matrixed, cross organization team that are directly tied to the development, implementation or upgrade of technology or products for external customers. One or more cross functional, matrixed team members is a 2nd line manager and/ or Sr PE and guides performance of functional teams.

Manages Projects or programs where consistent decisions are made that have a global or long-lasting impact on the business, reputation, posture or image of the organization through all phases of the lifecycle. Manages interdependencies and integration among multiple projects, teams, and stakeholders. Has decision making authority at the program level. Sets direction for programs by determining and balancing the technical need vs business impact with a comprehensive understanding of the business landscape & guard rails of the business - 'Think like a GM' mentality. Is the key interface with stakeholders and leadership internally and externally. Exercises judgment and discretion to develop solutions, remove obstacles and redefine approaches.

Oversees identification of tasks and research, dependencies, costs; communicates expectations to core team members. Creates/tracks/adjusts the program schedule. Assesses risks and identifies solutions to timely, efficient achievement of program goals. Ensures that quality standards and budget constraints are met. Ensures appropriate progress against schedule and takes remedial action as appropriate. Prioritizes utilization of resources with other functions. Influences business unit or cross-organizational strategies relevant to program goals. Has an advanced understanding of the technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, and disciplines associated with the defined program, and utilizes knowledge to accelerate project completion.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Program manager responsible for driving execution from planning to launch/ramp for Data Center SSD products by working with cross functional teams. Responsible for maintaining and managing product features and schedule plan of record.   
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in the following: Hardware and Software product development of a data center, client, memory, phone, or other equivalent product (IT experience doesn't qualify).   
  • Functional areas of product development   
  • Computer storage and memory hierarchy   
  • Technical product development engineering management and customer enablement  
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience with engineering management  
  • Basic understanding of product development and high-volume manufacturing, technical concepts, product architecture, system design, development methods, SPC  
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  
  • Strong technical background in either EE or ME. Mechatronics background is a plus 
  • Program/Project management experience  
  • Experienced in setting up program/project schedules

The compensation range for this role is $235,520 - $391,600. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
