Job Description
As a Senior Strategic Capacity Planner, you will drive operational excellence across wafer logistics, manufacturing process flows, factory space planning, and capacity optimization at SLDM NAND wafer manufacturing. You will also maintain strong integration with NAND planner to ensure seamless alignment of wafer supply as the primary raw material source for downstream assembly and test. You will own the strategic capacity and space models used across RP and LRP cycles, partnering closely with Fab IE, HVM Planning, TD Operations, and Fab MFG. In this role, you will lead high impact, cross functional initiatives that increase throughput, reduce TPT/CT, and improve tool productivity, while informing Fab capacity investments and lowering total cost.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Own and continuously refine Fab capacity and space models used across RP, POR, and LRP cycles, ensuring alignment with long‑term technology transition and output roadmaps.
- Conduct strategic scenario analysis each cycle, evaluating technology mix changes, 140s/150s/160s ramps, new facility ramping strategies, workstation loading, cycle‑time impacts, and equipment readiness.
- Drive tool capacity improvement initiatives, including RR validation, debottleneck analysis, constraint modeling, tool‑fleet optimization, and tool‑matching strategies across critical modules.
- Provide data‑driven recommendations for Fab capacity investments and CapEx prioritization by quantifying throughput, cost, and supply‑risk implications.
- Assess full‑build triggers, pivot‑space buffer requirements, and long‑range factory space planning to support continuous ramping.
- Ensure Fab capacity readiness meets SSD demand, scenario outputs, and solve‑based supply requirements.
Operations Optimization
- Respond to what‑if analyses with rapid, data‑driven guidance to enable agile manufacturing execution in fast‑changing environments.
- Lead Fab loading requirement analysis and drive timely, reliable supply responses through the CCB process.
- Diagnose Fab bottlenecks through structured methodologies and lead mitigation solution to close MOR/POR gap.
- Drive continuous‑improvement projects that stabilize output, reduce variability, and improve end‑to‑end manufacturing predictability.
Modeling & Systems Excellence
- Build, automate, and maintain IE analytical models (capacity, cycle time, scenario simulations) to improve planning accuracy.
- Develop dashboards that provide clear insights into POR performance, CT/TPT trends, and key wafer supply health indicators.
- Drive model standardization, data integrity, and streamlined reporting across Fab, HVM Planning and TD Ops.
Leadership & Cross‑Functional Influence
- Lead cross‑functional influence involving Fab IE, HVM/TD Planners, TD Ops, Fab MFG.
- Frame options, quantify trade‑offs, and deliver executive‑ready recommendations for capacity, tool deployment, and investment decisions.
- Mentor engineers and planners in capacity modeling, scenario analysis, CT fundamentals, and systematic problem‑solving.
