Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join one of our USA clients’ Consumer Science teams. Our client is building technology-driven solutions to transform the way people purchase their everyday goods, providing a seamless, on-demand experience that meets customers’ immediate needs at the click of a button.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will work on high-impact initiatives across Search, Browse, and Recommendation systems, owning projects from prototype to production. You will help refine and scale retrieval, ranking, and query understanding systems to enhance user discovery and drive measurable business impact.

Qualifications
Expectations - the experience you need
- Hands-on experience building ranking and recommendation models in production environments.
- MS or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field.
- Strong foundation in statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and ML workflows.
- Proficiency in Python and related ML libraries/frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Scikit-learn, boosting models, etc.).
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale datasets.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Familiarity with model development and deployment tools (e.g., Databricks or similar).
- Experience building models that support real-time or near real-time decision-making.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience in eCommerce, marketplace, logistics, or similar high-transaction environments (nice to have).
Responsibilities - What you'll do
- Build and improve machine learning, statistical, and causal models for search, ranking, and recommendations aligned with business objectives.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable data science solutions.
- Take ownership of projects from experimentation through productionalization.
- Identify gaps in existing data, define data product specifications, and collaborate with Engineering to enhance tracking and instrumentation.
- Develop models supporting real-time events and cross-functional decision-making across Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, and Supply Chain.
- Present insights and model performance to business and engineering leadership.
- Promote automation and production-ready solutions whenever possible.
- Mentor and support junior data scientists.
- Partner with Analytics and other teams to ensure consistent data-driven practices across the organization.
