Job Description

How You’ll Make an Impact:  

As the Area General Manager, you will serve as the senior Sodexo leader for a key pharmaceutical client, overseeing workplace experience and day-to-day operations across Mississauga and Montreal. You will lead a diverse portfolio including facilities services, security, mailroom, catering, micromarket, AV, and office operations, ensuring an exceptional employee experience while delivering strong operational, financial, and client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of workplace experience, facilities services, and business support operations across the Mississauga and Montreal locations.
  • Manage and develop a team of 9 direct reports while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
  • Oversee third-party vendors and subcontractors across multiple service lines, ensuring service level agreements, performance standards, and client expectations are consistently met.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective planning, delegation, prioritization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, financial reporting, labour planning, and cost controls while ensuring overall account profitability.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, building trusted relationships and identifying opportunities to enhance the workplace experience.
  • Coordinate facilities-related services including maintenance vendors, security, mailroom operations, AV services, office services, catering, and workplace hospitality programs.
  • Monitor service performance and implement quality improvements to enhance employee and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, client standards, health and safety regulations, and applicable provincial and federal legislation.
  • Leverage vendor networks, sourcing strategies, and facilities management partners to proactively identify solutions and support operational requirements.
  • Analyze operational metrics and financial performance to identify efficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Travel quarterly to the Montreal location to support operations and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

 

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing multiple service lines within workplace experience, facilities management, hospitality, property management, office operations, corporate services, or a related environment.
  • Experience leading multi-site operations with accountability for service delivery, client satisfaction, financial performance, and employee engagement.
  • Proven experience managing vendors, subcontractors, and outsourced service providers across multiple service lines.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, labour planning, financial reporting, and operational performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-functional teams in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Exceptional client relationship and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong operational leadership with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Experience managing workplace services such as facilities, office operations, hospitality, catering, mailroom, security, AV, or related service environments.
  • Proven ability to identify operational efficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and technology skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and make sound business decisions.
  • A passion for service excellence, workplace experience, hospitality, and people leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within a corporate office, pharmaceutical, healthcare, professional services, integrated facilities management, or property management environment.
  • Knowledge of facilities management vendors, sourcing practices, contract management, and outsourced service delivery models.
  • Experience overseeing workplace experience programs and employee-facing services.
