Job Description

The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and commercially effective delivery of operations across remote sites. The role oversees operational planning, performance management, and resource optimisation to ensure consistent delivery against Sodexo standards, service level agreements (SLAs), and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Leading a team of Village Managers, the position provides strong leadership and direction to drive a high-performance culture focused on safety, compliance, service quality, and continuous improvement.

The role also maintains strong client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring expectations are met while identifying opportunities for operational enhancement and sustainable growth.

Accountable for financial performance, the Senior Operations Manager manages labour, budgets, and site expenditure within contractual parameters, while driving efficiencies and supporting organic business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational performance by developing plans, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring strategic objectives are executed across all sites.
  • Drive excellence in people leadership through coaching Village Managers, fostering engagement, supporting development, and promoting a culture of continuous feedback.
  • Champion safety, compliance, and sustainability by upholding Sodexo’s HSE standards, minimising food waste, and ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
  • Strengthen financial and commercial performance through effective budgeting, workforce planning, cost control, and identifying opportunities for innovation and profitability.
  • Enhance client satisfaction and stakeholder relationships by maintaining strong communication, meeting service expectations, and ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Ensure operational governance and reporting by preparing accurate performance reports, maintaining compliance with Sodexo Remote Sites standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Model strong leadership and collaboration by working effectively with the Operations Management Team, resolving competing priorities, and upholding Sodexo’s values and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business/Management, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain/Logistics, or Hospitality/Facilities Management.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in remote sites, hospitality, facilities management, or industrial services, including oversight of multi-site, multi‑service operations with revenues of $16M–$50M.
  • Proven operational and financial capability, including managing multi‑million‑dollar budgets, P&L oversight, cost optimisation, and performance metrics (SLAs, KPIs).
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated success in contract compliance, relationship building, and supporting business development.
  • Experienced in leading diverse, cross‑functional teams in remote, multicultural, and logistically complex environments, with a commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
  • Highly developed professional competencies, including communication, negotiation, strategic planning, problem‑solving, and sound knowledge of legislation, compliance standards, and industry frameworks.
