Job Description

The Senior Medical Materials Coordinator provides medical, scientific and regulatory support for Switzerland and serves as the legally required person responsible for advertising in accordance with Art. 25 AWV (Arzneimittel-Werbeverordnung). The role ensures that promotional and non-promotional materials are scientifically accurate, balanced and aligned with Swiss regulatory requirements.

Aligned with regional objectives and the Global Medical Plan, the Senior Medical Materials Coordinator supports local medical and promotional initiatives and scientific projects by applying medical and scientific expertise to the review and communication of clinical data and scientific evidence. The position contributes to local medical activities while providing high-quality medical and scientific guidance across the organisation.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, the role supports the review and approval of medical and promotional materials and helps ensure the appropriate use of scientific information in internal and external communications.

Key Responsibilities/Scope of the Job:

  • Act as the officially designated Person Responsible for Advertising in accordance with Art. 25 AWV.
  • Provides support for KVV Art. 71a–d reimbursement requests
  • Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure scientific accuracy, balance and alignment with Swiss regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the legally required archive of promotional materials and serve as the primary contact for Swissmedic regarding advertising-related matters.
  • Apply medical and scientific expertise to evaluate and communicate clinical data and scientific evidence.
  • Monitor relevant scientific developments, clinical publications and treatment trends to support informed medical decision-making.
  • Provide medical and scientific guidance to internal stakeholders and contribute to training activities where appropriate.
  • Support local non-promotional and promotional initiatives, scientific communications and medical education activities in alignment with regional and global objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and review of medical and promotional content and ensure the consistent use of scientific information across internal and external communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide high-quality medical and scientific support across the organisation.

 

Qualifications

Education/Learning Experience/Work Experience/ Skills/Knowledge/Languages

 

Required: 

  • University degree in Pharmacy.
  • Experience in Medical Affairs, Medical Science, Medical Review and/or Regulatory Affairs and/or within the Swiss pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in the review and approval of promotional and scientific materials.
  • Strong expertise in Swiss therapeutic products legislation, including HMG, AWV, VAEA and Swissmedic requirements.
  • In-depth understanding of the Swiss healthcare environment, healthcare decision-making processes and applicable regulatory, safety and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience interacting and collaborating with health authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to critically evaluate complex clinical data and translate scientific information into balanced, evidence-based and compliant communication.
  • Fluency in German and English.
  • Proficient in modern IT systems and office software.
