Job Description

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Ireland Programmes team. This opportunity is ideally suited to a developing Project Manager who is looking to build on existing project experience and gain exposure to a wide range of customer-facing and technology-based projects.

Reporting to the Group Lead Ireland, you will take ownership of low to medium complexity projects whilst supporting wider programme activities across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. You will work closely with experienced programme professionals, engineering teams and customers, making this an excellent opportunity to further develop your career within a global technology organisation.

The successful candidate can be based in either Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland and will work in a hybrid environment, combining home working, customer site visits and company locations as required.

While the role supports projects across Ireland, it is primarily focused around the Dublin Airport region. Full training on Smiths Detection products and systems will be provided.

What You'll Be Doing

Project Delivery

  • Manage and coordinate low to medium complexity projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, plans, budgets and risk registers.
  • Support larger programme activities alongside senior project and programme colleagues.
  • Track project progress and ensure activities are delivered to agreed timelines.
  • Identify project risks and support mitigation actions.
  • Produce project reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with customer expectations.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Support customer communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple departments including Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Service and Sales.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and help drive solutions.

Commercial & Financial Support

  • Assist with project forecasting and budget tracking.
  • Support project governance and reporting activities.
  • Contribute to customer bids and tender activities where required.
  • Ensure smooth project handovers between Sales, Programmes and Service teams.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience coordinating or managing projects, workstreams or business initiatives.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in engineering, technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, construction or service-based environments.
  • Good commercial awareness and analytical capability.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills with confidence analysing and reporting project data.
  • A proactive approach with a desire to learn and develop within project management.

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to engineering, security, technology or infrastructure sectors.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, APM or Agile.
  • Experience using tools such as MS Project, Power BI, SAP, Primavera or Oracle ERP

Qualifications

We welcome applications from candidates who have:

  • A Degree, HND or equivalent experience in Project Management, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A Project Management qualification, or who are currently working towards one, such as PRINCE2, APM, PMP or equivalent.
