Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Ledger Accountant (Mid-Level) to join our Shared Service Center. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for the Mexico region, supporting controllership activities, and maintaining compliance with IFRS standards.
The position requires strong technical accounting expertise, SAP proficiency, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally while supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for the Mexico region.
- Prepare and review general ledger journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
- Execute and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze variances and provide explanations to management and controllership.
- Support financial statement preparation in accordance with IFRS.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate accounting policies.
- Actively support audit processes (internal and external).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Controllership.
- Work closely with local stakeholders in Mexico to resolve accounting issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Drive process improvements and standardization within the SSC environment.
- Support ad-hoc reporting and special accounting projects.
System Responsibilities
- Utilize SAP (highly proficient) for all accounting activities, including:
- FI (Financial Accounting) module – advanced level
- Integration with Purchasing (MM) and Sales (SD) modules
- Ensure data integrity across systems and proper transaction recording.
Key Deliverables
- Accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
- Fully supported and documented balance sheet reconciliations.
- Timely issue resolution and clear communication with stakeholders.
- Compliance with IFRS and internal policies.
Qualifications
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in General Ledger or Record-to-Report (R2R) processes.
- Experience working in a Shared Service Center (SSC) environment is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting Mexico operations is a plus.
- English level: B2 Required
- Spanish: Fluent (required)
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
- Advanced experience in SAP (FI module required; MM/SD integration desirable).
- Solid understanding of:

- Financial statement analysis
