Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for the role of a Mechanical Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager. The Mechanical Engineer will support both internal and external customers on a broad range of technical activities, including design, manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting of engineered products and systems.

This role will involve working on a variety of projects with differing levels of complexity, often requiring fast turnaround. You will support the sales network and perform technical assessments, providing recommendations that contribute to achieving business objectives.

The role is based at our headquarters in Slough, working Monday to Friday during normal office hours.

Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Evaluate test failures and mechanical system performance, identifying root causes and implementing design improvements
  • Perform and interpret engineering calculations, analyses, and simulations for mechanical systems and components
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide clear and concise technical feedback and reports to customers and internal teams
  • Support commercial teams in technical discussions with customers to resolve issues and strengthen relationships
  • Collaborate with Development Engineering on new product development and bespoke engineering solutions
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure alignment and visibility on project progress and deliverables
  • Utilise analysis tools (e.g. FEA) to investigate performance issues and validate design changes
  • Produce conceptual and detailed CAD designs to communicate engineering solutions and modifications
  • Provide technical support to customer queries and applications
  • Maintain professional standards through effective communication and stakeholder engagement

Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience in a mechanical engineering role.
  • Experience with: Rotating Equipment, precision engineering, forensic analysis, the oil & gas industry would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in failure analysis and root cause analysis will prove advantageous.
  • Ability to read P&ID, General Arrangement and detail drawings.
  • Awareness and general knowledge of controls, control systems and instrumentation.
  • Able to create and work to a plan, delivering on time and to expectations.
  • Can work independently and drive team goals forward.
  • Ability to conduct and lead meetings.
  • Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness.
