Job Description

The Senior Business Analyst role will involve partnering with subject matter experts (Process Owners) in the relevant Group and Divisional functions to understand requirements, design solutions to support them, and act as functional subject matter expert for these processes and solutions on an ongoing basis including governing the enhancement process for their specific area.

Duties:

  • Partner with the Group and Divisional stakeholders (where appropriate) to understand the goals and objectives of each function with respect to process automation and continuous improvement
  • Build and maintain relationships with Global Business Process Owners to shape and prioritise process improvements and core ERP/CRM enhancements
  • Create quality artifacts such as, BRDs, User Stories, UAT test scripts, functional process specs et al. to support the delivery of transformational activity
  • Works with Principal BA(s) to:
  • Collaborate with designers to inform the creation and iteration of prototypes for the services or product to solve the problems users face
  • Define business process improvements for products or services to inform recommendations identifying clear benefits and contributing to delivery plans
  • Engage with other functional stakeholders to consider improvement/initiative impacts
  • Coordinate and work closely with Functional Leads, Project Team Members, and local Business Users to translate requirements into functional capabilities and technical solutions
  • Follow defined technology and business process best practices in eliciting business requirements for each delivery, influencing cross functional collaboration and coordination in solving business/solution problems
  • Validate the integrity of the solution(s) introduced, including: 1.) System Testing, 2.) Coordination of UAT, and 3.) Coordination of Regression Testing (where appropriate). Develop process training material and ensure process and system knowledge is embedded across the Business
  • Ensure system and business processes are accurately documented
  • Supports manager to:
  • Lead collaboration with various skill sets and provide a high level of support for clients and colleagues
  • Measure the benefit and value of services delivered
  • Maintain and execute a Business Analysis Framework based on IIBA standards
  • Facilitate business user knowledge and requirements sessions

Impact and Scope: 

The Senior Business Analyst works across Group and Divisional initiatives, partnering with the business to design and deliver improvements to enterprise processes and supporting systems. The role contributes directly to global standardisation, digital transformation and continuous improvement, making sure solutions are aligned to business priorities and deliver tangible benefits. The role typically spans multiple projects and has influence across functions and regions.

Qualifications

 Essential:

  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of business processes and leverages this in the completion of complex assignments
  • Uses knowledge to recommend improvements to workflow and establishes procedures that affect organizational operating procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to talk and present to a range of audiences, sometimes acting as a translator between parties
  • The capacity to motivate others and lead change
  • The ability to work under pressure on multiple projects within your project timeframes
  • A passion for creating solutions with a positive attitude to change
  • Excellent/advanced analytical skills and an informed, evidence-based approach
  • A good understanding of information technology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including VISIO or equivalent tool

Preferred:

  • Experience within a manufacturing/engineering industry
  • Experience of managing Business Process Re-engineering projects
  • Experience with Change Management practices
  • Applications testing lifecycle
  • Governance mindset and alignment to Service management
  • Minimum standards (e.g. LSS GB qualified, problem solving, business case development, design thinking, ITIL, EA baseline) 
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong organisational skills; ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands for resources, ability to adapt to change, and attention to detail
  • Capable of exercising independent judgment and recognising the critical impacts to the business. Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills; verbal and written
  • Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multi-cultural business environment
  • Self-starting independent individual who can shape an agenda and drive it
  • Able to build effective relationships with Business and IT counterparts and stakeholders, consulting and driving outcomes.
  • Apply subject matter expertise, and identify and solve problems quickly
  • Creative, innovative and able to successfully seek and seize opportunities as they develop
  • Flexibility, with the ability to work additional hours and in a variety of different business tasks as needed
