Job Description
Reporting to the HSE Manager, and indirectly to the site leader, coordinates with HSE leads and other departments to ensure regulatory compliance and safety. To ensure the establishment, coordination, and implementation of safety, hygiene, and environmental standards within the company's operations, in compliance with current regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating with site leader/HSE Manager and other departments to ensure legal compliance and employee safety and health. A strong focus on Legal and Smiths standard compliance at assigned sites. Support implementation and maintenance of JC or ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management System Certifications. Manage site-specific program for applicable permits, licenses & regulatory reporting.
- Complete HSE reporting for HSE programs and incidents in Smiths/JC database. Support sites in incident management including incident classification, investigation and creating actions.
- Support assigned site(s) in planning and execution of Safety Leading Indicator program activities and Smiths JC initiatives
- Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
- Working collaboratively with Site Leadership. Drive and manage internal and external HSE audits for assigned sites and manage the reports in PRISM.
- Conduct safety training and employee engagement activities
- Actively lead and participate in risk assessments, site inspections and audits
- Support emergency response planning and drills
- Organise and supervise mandatory controls
- Performing HSE audits on contractors to ensure contractors are compliant with the responsibilities outlined in the John Crane contractor management policy.
- Develop site-specific environmental management plans and support sites in the identification of reduction opportunities in support of our ESG and other Smiths initiatives.
- Collaborate with peers and other employees to align HSE and company objectives across working groups. Drive continuous improvement.
- HSE Support John Crane SPAIN & John Crane French sites
Key accountabilities:
- HSE Data Collection and Validation
- Entry, implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions
- Conducting HSE internal audits & Managing External Audits
- Implementing HSE programs such as the Leading Indicator Program, Industrial Hygiene Monitoring, HSE Training Plan, SDS Management System, All legally required programs, etc.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma with relevant experience. Degree preferred.
- 1 to 2 years of HSE experience plus a strong working knowledge of HSE regulations and requirements.
- Demonstrated skills must include written and verbal communication, creative problem-solver, process improvement, conflict resolution and change management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- 30% Travel is required
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- French Language skills (Business level( is a plus
