Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Test & Assembly Technician to join our team in Slough, United Kingdom. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting electronic components and products to ensure they meet our rigorous quality standards. You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where precision, efficiency, and adherence to safety protocols are paramount. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of product quality.

  • Assemble electronic components and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment while following technical drawings and work instructions
  • Perform functional and quality testing on assembled products using diagnostic equipment and testing software to identify defects or deviations
  • Inspect finished products for compliance with specifications, documenting results and flagging any issues for corrective action
  • Troubleshoot assembly and testing problems, analyzing root causes and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and quality
  • Maintain organized work stations and ensure all tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained
  • Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and quality documentation to ensure accurate assembly and testing procedures
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company procedures while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and implement process improvements
  • Document test results, assembly data, and any anomalies in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on process optimization opportunities

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in electronic assembly, soldering, and component testing
  • Proficiency with testing equipment, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic tools
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Solid understanding of quality assurance principles and inspection procedures
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Competency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in assembly environments
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, ESD (electrostatic discharge) precautions, and workplace safety standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with data entry and documentation systems
  • Preferred: Experience with automated testing equipment or programming
  • Preferred: Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC or ISO quality standards
  • Preferred: Background in electronics manufacturing or related technical field
