Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities –
Industrial Relations:
- Responsible to build constructive relationships between all stakeholders both internally (Unions) and externally (government bodies, other industrial bodies and external parties as maybe necessary).
- Facilitate along with the India Management & Plan Leadership implementation of regular meetings between management & direct staff.
- Coordinate the implementations of various employee programs, welfare activities and employee relations.
- Represent the organization in contract negotiations, meetings & negotiations with direct employees and any external union bodies as required.
- Collaborates with HR Leader on matters of policy and terms of any MOU before & throughout the negotiation process.
- Collaborates with Legal Counsel and Management in the preparation for and participation in negotiation with employees and labour groups.
- Support safe workplace cultures and compliance with Smiths EH&S
- Contract Labour Management
- Compliance Management & supporting legal matters related to Union and other employees
Business Partnering
- Working with the plant manager/s to helping them engage employees, address people issue and continually raise the performance bar
- Partner and focus on supporting the plant Talent Management Process.
- Drive the Reward and Recognition at plant level
- Collaborate with HR Service Centers and local HR teams, as applicable, to ensure delivery on all strategic plans
- Ensure HR compliance to Smiths quality standards and adherence to division/group policies/procedures/ code of ethics.
- Liaise with the People Operations team to ensure that employee or organizational transactional activities are completed efficiently and accurately within the HR master data system.
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- MSW with a degree in Law is preferred
- 10+ years of experience in IR & HR
- Related manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Successful track record as an HR generalist with involvement in employee resourcing/ talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employment, and employee training and development
- Thorough and up to date knowledge on labor laws
- Previous experience in handling Trade Unions and Charter of Demand discussion and execution
- Preferred experience working with global and/or highly matrixed organizations and teams
- Excellent Negotiation skills
- Union Management skills
