•Lead the qualification and approval of materials in support of global supply chain and quality teams.

•Independently design and select tests and experiments for material qualification and forensic analysis.

•Confer with customers or vendors for the purpose of obtaining information necessary to conduct daily investigations and to select and purchase equipment, materials and services.

•Conduct failure analysis of products which have failed in service, manufacturing, or testing and relaying a comprehensive report of finding with evidence.

•Populate internal database with key information for users to be able to select appropriate materials for the application.

•Interpretation of drawings, test specifications and requirements

•Understanding test requirements and carrying out test plans by assembling a standard test seal, carrying out tests using bespoke test equipment and reporting findings

•Self manage own schedule providing commitments and executing effectively

•Work in a safe manner and understanding and applying general safety practices.

•Work in an organised manner understanding and applying 5S

•Support written risk assessments and COSHH assessments

•Creating written and graphed test data reports and helping to conclude the outcome

•Present data to wider group and provide insight on key test events

•Part conditioning using manufacturing methods to meet finish requirements

•MSc in Material Science or Materials Engineering

Technical / Leadership skills:

•Familiar with ASTM, ASM, NACE, ISO standards…

•Familiar with optical microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope and other Materials analysis equipment

•Familiar with metallographic sample preparation and examination

•Understand corrosion mechanisms of materials

•Understand basic fracture mechanics for failure analysis

•Logical approach to fault-finding and troubleshooting

•Familiar with pressure and associated physics

•A keen eye for detail and for following processes/procedures

Desirable Experience:

•Typically at least 2 years' in material testing and application related experience.

•Test lab work experience is preferred.

Language Requirement:

English ability ：Skilled in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing
