Job Description

STS Aerospace is looking for a Buyer that represents the company in the acquisition of goods and services required to assure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction. The primary objective is to obtain the products and services that are performed externally. In accomplishing this, the Buyer will evaluate, and determine the best supplier, value and delivery for those products and services.STS Aerospace is looking for a Buyer that represents the company in the acquisition of goods and services required to assure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction. In accomplishing this, the Buyer will evaluate, and determine the best supplier, value and delivery for those products and services.

  • Evaluate BOM and determine goods and service purchase requirements.
  • Consult BOM, technical data, prints, catalogs, previous history and RFQ to obtain price and specifications.
  • Make make-buy decisions.
  • Find best product for the most competitive price from approved vendors.
  • Assure that the acquisition of all goods and services will meet the requirements of contract, BOM, requisition, etc.
  • Negotiate price and delivery.
  • Alignment with Estimating Department; price, delivery, T&C, payment terms, etc.
  • Target purchase price to be equal or less than standard and or quote price.
  • Assure all pricing, quantity, technical data, and pertinent information is properly flowed down to vendor.
  • Award purchase order and send order along with all technical data and pertinent information to vendor.
  • Compute total purchase price and compare to standard and or quote price.
  • Schedule and expedite purchase order delivery.
  • Manage and report purchasing metrics.
  • Consult with Engineering, Production Planning, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing when questions arise.
  • Work with Quality on Vendor non-conformance and returns.
  • Work with Quality, Production and Planning on scrap reconciliation and purchase accordingly.
  • Vendor communications; may require on-site visits.
  • Interview and recommend potential vendors.
  • New vendor onboarding; may require onsite visit.
  • Assist the Estimating Department in project bidding.
  • Review material shortage reports and purchase accordingly.
  • Reduce liability/financial exposure at the supply base.
  • Work with Production and Material Planning to ensure on time starts.
  • Work with Production and Material Planning to ensure supplier on-time delivery performance.

 

Qualifications

MS Office Skills

Strong communication skills both written and oral

Mathematical skills, calculate figures such as discounts, percentages, interest, commissions.

Critical thinking and problem solving

Minimum 1-3 years of experience
