Job Description

JOB PURPOSE-

The International Brand Manager will be responsible for planning, strategizing, and monitoring marketing efforts for joint ventures, with a primary focus on Asian markets, specifically China, as well with distributors. This role will support growth and maximize global marketing opportunities for Skechers in joint venture and distributor countries, ensuring all marketing efforts are in line with the company’s initiatives and brand guidelines. This position also provides direction and guidance on marketing initiatives, collaborating with cross-functionals teams to meet company marketing goals. The International Marketing Manager works with international teams to develop and implement strategic marketing plans in various countries. This position reports to the International Brand Director, and VP of Corporate Communication and Marketing.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

  • Strategize with Joint Venture marketing heads on opportunities to build the Skechers brand, launch key initiatives and grow sales through marketing.
  • Provide direction and guidance to Joint Ventures and Distributors on local marketing initiatives to ensure that activities align with the global brand strategy.
  • Liaise with regional and local marketing teams to get project status updates, identify any local needs, and align them with global marketing.
  • Monitor to ensure that all brand marketing projects are supported by business strategies, objectives, and insights.
  • Track performance of campaigns to provide data-backed insights for optimization, identify new opportunity areas, and report progress to leadership.
  • Monitor all Joint Ventures budgets on a yearly, quarterly, and monthly basis—work with the countries to ensure all budgets are adhered to.
  • Maintain a roadmap calendar to ensure that all monthly / quarterly deliverables (budgets, marketing reports, collab launches, etc.) are executed on time.
  • Prepare presentations for meetings, conferences, and special projects.
  • Maintain general awareness of local marketing trends, pop culture, as well as key trends within the fashion / footwear industry.
  • Interface with merchandising team regularly to understand key initiatives, selling performance and impact of marketing initiatives.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS-

  • Ability to work on-site in a hybrid schedule. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin and English required. Additional fluency in Cantonese or other foreign languages a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with high level of initiative and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain a team-oriented mindset.
  • Must display a high degree of professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
  • Problem solving skills. Solution oriented.
  • Ability to interpret and understand budgets. Must have strong analytical skills.
  • Must have the ability to analyze data, provide insights, and make recommendations.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to frequent changes and ability to react quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid collaborative relationships.
  • Proficiency in MS-Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Flexibility to take morning & evening calls to align with international business hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel internationally.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE-

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related area.
  • 5+ years’ experience in international marketing – lifestyle consumer brand a plus.
  • Experience working with Asia markets preferred, as well as direct understanding of China market

Pay range for this position is $85,000-$100,000/year
