Job Description
Summary of Position
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for implementing and maintaining the facility's, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and company standards. This position promotes a proactive safety culture by conducting inspections, training employees, investigating incidents, and working with all departments to reduce workplace hazards and injuries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and enforcement of facility safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of assembly, manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, and office areas.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct workplace investigations on injuries, near misses, property damage incidents, and events.
- Lead root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed and verified.
- Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments.
- Coordinate emergency response activities including fire drills, evacuation exercises, and spill response.
- Deliver new hire orientation and ongoing safety training.
- Administer contractor safety and ensure compliance with site requirements.

- Machine Guarding
- PPE Requirements
- Powered Industrial Trucks
- Confined Space
- Hot Work
- Fall Protection
- Hazard Communication
- Respiratory Protection
- Participate in safety committee meetings.
- Support workers' compensation case management and return-to-work programs.
- Perform industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomic assessments as required.
- Assist with regulatory inspections and audits.
- Stop work when imminent danger conditions exist.

- Ability to identify potential hazards and assess risks in various work environments, considering factors such as machinery, chemicals, ergonomics, and workplace layout.
- Expertise in conducting thorough investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Ability to analyze safety data, track trends, and use metrics to measure the effectiveness of safety programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of emergency response planning
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk manufacturing floors for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders and work around production equipment.
- Lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, and respiratory protection when required.
Education / Qualifications / or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing or light industrial safety experience.
- Knowledge of state and local statutes and ordinances
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS management systems.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software.
- Preferred Certifications
- Board of Certified Safety Professionals Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry
- First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor (preferred)
