Job Description

Summary of Position 

The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, repair, and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Your expertise and experience will be utilized to lead and execute maintenance tasks, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor junior technicians. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members and departments to maintain the organization's assets and support its operations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Perform preventative/predictive maintenance to all production equipment as required 
  • Complete electrical and mechanical projects based on direction given from Maintenance Supervisor as required by government regulation 
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and follow company safety policies, procedures and regulations at all times 
  • Initiate and complete all other jobs, projects and special assignments as directed by Maintenance Supervisor 
  • Ensure compliance of all Company policies 
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on various machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. 
  • Maintain compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and recommend measures to improve health and safety 
  • Work within a team environment and interact with all areas of production effectively 
  • Repair and replace electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, timers, types of switches, PLCs, light curtains, motor controls and valves 
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior maintenance technicians, supporting their skill development and professional growth. 
  • Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests, identifying and resolving critical problems to minimize operational disruptions.

  • Mechanical aptitude/interest 
  • A commitment to following safety guidelines and promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance team and the organization.

  • Willing and able to work rotating shift 
  • Be able to conceive and manage small projects

Education and/or Experience  

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with strong problem-solving skills 
  • Journeyman’s license preferred. 
  • Electrician with an undergraduate diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Techniques, Military experience in lieu of or related subject, preferred.  
  • 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment with multiple priorities preferred.
