Job Description

Sika is looking for an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join it's growing team in Sealy, TX for Roofing Operations. The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer  is responsible for the maintenance, implementation, and modifications of all software-controlled PLC/equipment interfaces, data collection as well as the support of other standard electrical instruments and controls involved in the plant operations.  

  • Improvement of plant efficiency, reliability, and repeatability
  • Support and Monitoring of extrusion coating lines, mixing plants, and winder software/PLC interface systems
  • Maintain all process data collection from the shop floor network utilizing plc’s that feed the MES interface to the SAP system
  • Implementation of plant wide communications/monitoring for Manufacturing Management
  • Networking of plant wide raw material monitoring for manufacturing planning and inventory
  • Development of 24 hour/day support for M61 extrusion coating line (PLC Controlled production line)

Qualifications

  • Mechanical / Electrical Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Rockwell Contrologix Software is required, Siemens is a plus
  • Knowledge of Rockwell FactoryTalk View and Wonderware
  • 2 years minimum related work experience in a related field
  • Control System design and modifications, equipment design and manufacturing, plant network design and support
  • Experience in PLC programming, and HMI development
