Job Description

Reports to: EHS Manager

Location: Abuja 

Role Summary: The EHS Officer will support the implementation of environment, health, and safety policies and procedures across the organization. The role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, promotes a safe workplace, and assists in monitoring environmental sustainability initiatives.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits.
  • Monitor workplace practices to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate EHS training and awareness programs.
  • Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and hazards.
  • Drive environmental sustainability initiatives, including waste management and energy conservation.
  • Liaise with staff to encourage safe work practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • BSc/ HND in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an EHS or related role.
  • Proven knowledge of HSE/EHS principles and workplace safety standards.
  • Professional certification (e.g., HSE Level 1–3, NEBOSH IGC ) would be an added advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.
