Job Description

Position Summary

The Tax Supervisor is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Saudi Arabian tax regulations, including VAT, Withholding Tax, and Corporate Tax requirements. The role includes validation of invoices in line with ZATCA e-invoicing regulations, preparation and submission of tax returns, coordination with tax consultants, and managing communication with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA).

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Prepare and submit Withholding Tax (WHT) returns in compliance with ZATCA regulations.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns accurately and within statutory deadlines.
  • Coordinate with external tax consultants for preparation and submission of annual tax returns.
  • Ensure timely payment of all tax liabilities and proper reconciliation with accounting records.

Invoice Validation & E-Invoicing Compliance

  • Review and validate supplier and customer invoices to ensure compliance with ZATCA VAT and e-invoicing (FATOORA) regulations.
  • Verify that invoices include all mandatory VAT elements, including VAT registration numbers, QR codes, invoice sequencing, and required disclosures.
  • Ensure invoices issued through ERP or invoicing systems comply with Phase 1 and Phase 2 e-invoicing requirements.
  • Coordinate with the IT and accounting teams to ensure ERP systems remain compliant with ZATCA e-invoicing standards.

Regulatory Liaison

  • Serve as the primary contact with ZATCA for tax-related queries, clarifications, and compliance matters.
  • Follow up with ZATCA on assessments, audits, refund claims, and compliance notices.
  • Monitor updates in tax laws and regulations and ensure the company adapts accordingly.

Internal Controls & Documentation

  • Maintain proper tax documentation and supporting schedules for audit and regulatory purposes.
  • Ensure proper record keeping of tax filings, invoices, and supporting documentation.
  • Support internal and external auditors in tax-related reviews and audits.

Advisory & Process Support

  • Provide guidance to AP, AR, sales, and procurement teams regarding the correct tax treatment of transactions.
  • Assist in improving tax compliance procedures and internal controls.
  • Ensure tax transactions are correctly reflected in ERP and accounting records.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
  • 5+ years of experience.
