Job Description
We’re looking for a Sales Apprentice to join our Target Market Concrete team.
Purpose of the Role
As a Sales Apprentice, you’ll support the regional team while developing your own commercial and technical expertise. Over time, you’ll take on increasing responsibility as your confidence and capability grow.
- Learn how to promote and sell Sika’s high-performance concrete solutions
- Support customer relationships across a region
- Assist with product trials, site visits, and project support
- Work alongside Product Managers and technical teams to understand innovation
- Help identify new business opportunities and contribute to regional growth
- Develop an understanding of the construction market, customers, and competitors
This role is designed to give you real exposure—not just observation—so you can actively contribute while you learn.
What’s in it for you?
The Opportunity:
You’ll receive hands-on training, mentorship, and access to industry-leading expertise, helping you build both technical knowledge and commercial confidence. You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team where your development is a priority.
This is your chance to build a career—not just start a job. As a Sales Apprentice, you’ll gain real, hands-on experience while being supported every step of the way.
You’ll be part of a forward-thinking and innovative team, contributing to the development and launch of new products. Working closely with our Product and R&D teams, you’ll learn how industry-leading solutions are brought to market—and play an active role in that journey.
As your experience grows, you’ll begin to shape the success of your region. You’ll learn how to identify opportunities, support the development of a sales pipeline, and contribute to delivering a regional strategy that drives growth.
A key part of your development will be learning how to build strong, lasting relationships with customers. You’ll gain the skills to understand their needs, support them with tailored solutions, and deliver real value—laying the foundation for long-term partnerships.
This role is designed to give you exposure to every aspect of sales—technical, commercial, and strategic—so you can develop into a well-rounded sales professional.
The Support:
You will have the opportunity to work alongside the existing team across the UK. This is a diverse group with a range of experience and a commitment to improving customer and technical support. Our people and teams are our most important asset, and we will continue to ensure that the contribution of every individual is made to count and valued accordingly.
You will be provided with a detailed induction plan, receiving one-to-one training, and then be given the opportunity to increase autonomy in line with self-development. We are committed to professional and personal development.
The Future:
This is the first step in a long-term career with Sika.
Successful apprentices can progress into Area Sales Manager roles and beyond, with opportunities across different business units and even internationally within our global organisation.
Qualifications
The Skills:
We’re not expecting you to know everything already—that’s what the apprenticeship is for. Instead, we’re looking for potential, attitude, and ambition.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
- Interest in sales, construction, or technical products
- Self-motivated with a proactive mindset
- Good organisation and time management
- Confidence to build relationships with customers and colleagues
