Job Description

Sika is looking for an experienced Operator to join it's growing team in Eaton Rapids Michigan.  This operator position will play a key role in supporting our Board Casting, and Board Finishing production goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary.
• Set up and operate machines, such dispenser, planers, sanders, mixers.
• Inspect work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, or other measuring instruments.
• Read job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences.
• Start machines and turn hand wheels or valves to engage feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms.
• Move controls or mount gears, cams, or templates in machines to set feed rates and cutting speeds, depths, and angles.
• Position, adjust, and secure stock material or work pieces against stops, on arbors, or in chucks, fixtures, or automatic feeding mechanisms, manually or using hoists.• Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales, rules, or templates.
• Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or work pieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.
• Understands how to inspect equipment for malfunctions.
• Understand the procedure for post cure schedule of the boards.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

At least 1 year of experience running various equipment in a manufacturing environment
Understands the importance of proper item codes, batch numbers, and BOM and Production Procedures.
Understands daily maintenance of each machine.
