Job Description
As part of its growth, Sia Hong Kong is recruiting an Analytics Engineer Consultant, a profile at the intersection of Data Analysis and Data Engineering.
You will work with our clients to turn raw data into actionable data products and usable analyses with strong business impact.
Combining technical rigour with a strong sense for data, you will be a key point of contact for business teams, modelling, strengthening the reliability of and creating value from data, in a logic of decision support, performance steering and industrialisation of use cases.
Key responsibilities
- Gather and understand business needs and propose suitable technical solutions (analytics tools, data models, workflow automation, dashboards, etc.).
- Design robust and scalable data models.
- Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines to strengthen the reliability of and automate flows between the various sources and analytics platforms. Industrialise data products (dashboards, APIs, exports, analytical models), ensuring their maintainability, adoption and documentation.
- Put data governance in place (quality, traceability, monitoring).
- Train and support users (business teams, analysts, data scientists, etc.) in using the tools and assets developed.
- Take part in every stage of the project, from diagnosis through to production rollout and change management.
Example projects
- Implementing a customer data model to steer marketing performance.
- Building pipelines for predictive maintenance.
- Creating models to feed BI applications (Power BI, Tableau).
As part of the firm’s internal activities, you will also:
- Develop or strengthen the firm’s expertise through training, working groups, the distribution of internal and external materials, and R&D work.
- Contribute to the firm’s visibility by taking part in the publication plan (sector blogs, studies, press coverage, etc.) and in client events.
- Support business development by contributing to the definition of client needs and taking part in commercial initiatives.
Qualifications
Master’s level degree (Bac+5), from an engineering school or business school with a specialisation in data science, statistics or marketing, with 1 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role or in the data field.
What we expect from you:
- Advanced command of SQL and of data transformation tools.
- Experience with at least one Cloud environment (AWS, GCP or Azure).
- Strong command of dimensional modelling and schema design.
- Desirable knowledge: infrastructure & orchestration – Terraform, Snowflake, Redshift, dbt, Airflow.
- BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
- Versioning (Git), CI/CD, analytics testing.
- Languages: fluency in English is essential, with business proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin or Cnatonese) highly advantageous
