Job Description

  •  Support testing, evaluating and recommend hardware products for purchase of new Hardware for purchase.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Work with end users to identify and deliver required Hardware service levels.
  • Provide training and support to end users and staff on Hardware operation and other issues.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex Hardware problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site as needed.
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls and/or e-mails regarding POS, PC and/or hardware problems.
  • Monitor and test Hardware performance and provide Hardware performance statistics and reports.
  • If necessary, liaise with 3rd party support and 3rd party HW/equipment vendors.
  • Maintain internal Hardware inventory for loan or testing use.
  • Provide Preventive Maintenance Services for customers’ Hardware covered under the Maintenance Agreement.

Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years in repair and service of POS hardware and familiar with hospitality industry will be a plus point
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Experience in a customer facing role working to defined levels of service delivery 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work with energy, direction, speed and quality both independently and in a team environment 
  • Fluent in English. Mandarin, and any other local language will be beneficial
  • Additional information
  • The Hardware Engineer’s role is to support and maintain company's Hardware which includes, POS Terminals, POS Printers, POS Peripherals, desktops and other peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required
