Job Description

This role will support the Head of Controls and the Controls Testing Team in a newly created and centralised function within Risk Services. The scope of this role will be bank wide, including the Chief Operating Office, Chief Banking Office, Chief Technology Office, Finance and other Central Functions.

The purpose of the role is to use information and data to assess, monitor, and support the management of risks and issues in line with the bank's standards. The analyst will play a key role in Issues Management - reviewing closure evidence, ensuring issues are appropriately prioritised, tracking, and supporting closure in line with governance standards. This work will support the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process and wider decision-making, helping to identify areas for improvement to better protect our customers and Shawbrook Bank. The role may also support control testing activity where required.

A key aspect of this role will be to identify thematic areas for improvement across the risk and controls environment and while eliminating duplication. Enhancing efficiency by removing manual effort and identifying areas for systemisation and AI integration will be a key focus.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience and track record of the end-to-end issues management lifecycle 
  • Good experience of risk/control identification and design
  • Good understanding of root cause analysis going beyond symptoms to identify the underlying drivers
  • Stakeholder challenge and influence - respectfully but firmly influencing stakeholders to achieve the right outcomes
  • Clear and structured reporting and governance 

Desired

  • Experience in the Financial Industry or other regulated environments.
