Job Description

We are looking for a Staff Network Engineer who is an automation builder.

Someone who

  • Understands how real-world network operations actually run
  • Can build automation end-to-end (not just design or talk about it)
  • Knows how to reduce manual work and improve operational speed
  • Can operate in production and improve it at the same time

This team owns high-level troubleshooting, rapid response, and operational resiliency. We triage, stabilise, automate, and continuously improve. If you’ve lived in network operations and evolved into CI/CD and automation — this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and deploy network solutions aligned to business needs
  • Lead troubleshooting during outages and high-impact incidents
  • Automate operational tasks to reduce manual intervention
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for network and infrastructure automation
  • Proactively analyse capacity, availability, and performance to prevent outages
  • Support planned changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule

This is not just support. This is operational engineering + automation ownership.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • You must be able to implement -
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • Ansible
    • Terraform
  • 5+ years in Internet/data center networking
  • Strong networking foundation:
    • BGP, OSPF, IS-IS
    • HSRP/VRRP
    • IPSEC
    • TCP/IP deep understanding (packet capture + analysis)
  • Hands-on troubleshooting in live production environments
  • Core platform knowledge
  • Networking fundamentals (routing/switching/security/load balancing) – must be intermediate

This role requires builders — not learners at this stage

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years of cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell
  • Azure Core Platform (Compute, Storage, Networking)
  • Familiarity with Cisco IOS and JunOS operating systems required.
  • DevOps tooling (GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with F5, Cisco ASA
  • Monitoring tools (Splunk, Cacti, Watch4Net)
  • Experience working in globally distributed teams
  • Strong communication skills and empathy for customers.
  • Ability to learn new technology in a fast-paced environment.

Who Will Thrive Here

  • A traditional network engineer who grew into automation
  • Someone comfortable in both outage bridges and code repositories
  • Engineers who understand production realities before writing automation
  • Problem-solvers who move fast and improve systems continuously
  • Professionals comfortable with ambiguity and ownership

Why This Role Matters

This team is scaling. Operational efficiency and speed are top priorities.
You won’t just maintain networks — you’ll modernise how they’re operated
