Job Description
The scope of Strategic Sourcing Manager is to provide value while building strong relationships with internal business units and drive enterprise-wide sourcing, category management, and contract negotiation. This role will specifically focus on scaling software sourcing solutions in Go-to-Market spend areas (e.g. software partnership agreements for resale, OEM white labeling, and others) and aid the Sourcing of other software subcategories, as-needed. Individuals successful in this role will be able to provide internal advisory on GTM engagements with specific attention on commercial contract clauses, remain agile under pivoting business requirements while aiding timely execution of deliverables, and curate new strategies for vendor engagement, renewal processing, and stakeholder enablement while achieving department and company wide- KPIs.
What you get to do in this role:
- Manage software sourcing initiatives from opportunity assessment to contract execution as an individual contributor on the Software Sourcing Team with primary focus on Go-to-Market software
- Aid the development of our internal sourcing practices/procedures between legal, sales, support, and our NPI (New Product Introduction) Teams in a relatively new category
- Craft a programmatic approach to navigate timely vendor onboarding for specific customers/sales strategies, renewal processing, vendor engagement, and stakeholder enablement at scale
- Ensure sourcing serves as a critical enabler and value add to the business, while managing to budgetary and operational targets
- Manage, advise, and engage in the sourcing and contracting processes including evaluating, negotiating, redlining, and entering contracts or renewing relationships with Software/SaaS, Software Maintenance, and support suppliers
- Identify, evaluate, and implement sourcing industry trends to advance company strategic sourcing excellence
- Strengthen partnerships with business functions across the company to provide valuable consultation.
- Develop a strong strategic advisor/partner relationship with the legal function to ensure best in class contracting practices are in place globally
- Conduct and facilitate RFx processes where appropriate, e.g. RFI, RFP, RFQ, including TCO modeling of RFx proposals, presenting results to stakeholders, and driving to closure on a decision
- Benchmark suppliers and trends and develop benchmarking models and approaches where limited data exists
- Monitor strategic supplier performance and enable the business to be informed decision makers
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- 5+ years of experience in technology sourcing with a focus on Software in a high growth, dynamic environment.
- Excellent organization and time management skills to oversee simultaneously occurring projects, tasks, and deadlines.
- Ability to spot trends in data quickly and present findings in a clear/concise manner to stakeholders/leadership
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain strong internal and external relationships at all levels
- Be a proven creative thinker with a problem-solving approach to implement solutions at scale
- Working knowledge of sourcing processes, methodologies, and approaches
- Exhibit strong analytical, conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills.
- Have an excellent track record of establishing relationships, influencing, and negotiating competing priorities among business partners
- Can-do mentality and ability to work independently where processes/procedures are still being formed
- Proficiency in productivity software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $112,200 - $196,400 plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
