Role:

You will be the operational backbone to support the building of responsible & trusted Generative AI and Machine Learning solutions. Data is quickly turning into the most precious business asset for AI. Ethical & trustworthy product development becomes crucial for building trust with customers. The governance posture around data assets and the AI SDLC influence ServiceNow customers' buying decisions.  

The AI Steward will oversee the entire data and development lifecycle, transforming data into a compliant, actionable, and secure asset that our AI practitioners can utilize. You will establish data and governance frameworks for the AI SDLC, enforce governance standards and policies, assist business units in selecting appropriate data, and contribute to all areas of data operations and governance. Collaborating with our development team responsible for implementing AI development tools, you will ensure that AI Governance policies, controls, and requirements are incorporated into lifecycle. You will oversee the rightful use of those tools and define user stories that will help the development team implement controls.  

To succeed in this role, you must possess a blend of experience in defining data & development processes, governance, along with hands-on skills in resolving data issues and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. You should be able to influence and establish data governance across multiple teams and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on all data-related matters. 

What You Will Do:  

  • Act as Go-to expert for the AI product, engineering and data science teams with anything in the realm of use, handling and governance of data & dev tools for the use in AI.
  • Establish and refine E2E process allowing compliant use of AI/ML assets within defined policies and standards 
  • Responsible for identifying, confirming the safe, compliant, accurate, controlled, transport, transformation, and storage of data 
  • Provide governance and oversight to the compliant use of data assets across the data lifecycle for AI use cases and products 
  • Manage and review AI data access requests; approve data usage by use case so other teams can perform their respective job functions 
  • Act as liaison to ServiceNow’s data governance team and represent the AI team in committees and contribute to the definition of company-wide processes and policies impacting AI.  
  • Create reports to ServiceNow’s leadership teams on the use of data assets across the AI product portfolio.  

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills:  

  • 3+ yrs of experience with data architecture, data governance, data analysis, data management and/or data stewardship disciplines. 
  • 3+ yrs of experience developing standards, policies, collecting and organizing data for very significant organizational initiatives. 
  • Strong understanding & experience with AI Systems and the AI Development Lifecycle 
  • Experience in regulatory and data-compliant dev & production environments 
  • Experience managing upstream & downstream data consumption needs required for an AI application 
  • Experience with Responsible AI & AI Ethics Standards 
  • Possess uncompromising ethics, unwavering integrity and understanding of risk & regulatory process, as well as outstanding communications and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills - must have ability to synthesize, develop and present clear and concise recommendations 
  • Collaborative and team player, ensuring overall business success

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $158,500 - $277,500, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
