Job Description
The Operator Engineer trainee will be responsible for Operating production machines, ensuring smooth running of processess, maintaining quality standards, an follow safety procedures on shop floor.
- Assist in day-to-day production operations to meet targets and quality standards
- Monitor machine performance, cycle time, and productivity
- Ensure proper setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting of machines
- Coordinate with maintenance for breakdowns and preventive maintenance
- Maintain production records, logs, and reports
- Ensure adherence to safety rules, SOPs, and quality procedures
- Support implementation of 5S, Kaizen, Lean, and TPM activities
- Work closely with quality, stores, and planning teams
- Reduce rejection, wastage, and downtime on the shop floor
Qualifications
Qualification - Diploma in Mechanical
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes (CNC / VMC / Lathe / Milling / Assembly – as applicable)
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings & GD&T
- Knowledge of production planning and control (PPC) is a plus
- Familiar with measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, gauges)
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, reports)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
