Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Associate to join our Assisted Living (AL) team in Cortland, United States. As a Care Associate, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our senior residents by providing personalized care and support in a professional and empathetic manner.

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, and escort services
  • Follow and implement individualized care plans as directed by supervisors
  • Provide emotional and social support to residents, fostering a positive and engaging environment
  • Accurately document daily assistance logs and report any resident concerns to supervisors
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure comprehensive and consistent resident care
  • Respect and promote residents' independence, dignity, and confidentiality
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in senior care
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience in senior care or a related field
  • Current CNA or CHHA license (as required by New York State regulations)
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with residents, families, and team members
  • Basic computer skills for accurate documentation and record-keeping
  • Demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and empathy in caring for seniors
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent multitasking abilities to handle various responsibilities safely and efficiently
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills, especially in high-stress situations
  • Physical stamina to assist residents with daily activities and respond to emergencies
  • Familiarity with local senior care regulations and standards in Cortland, New York
  • Positive attitude and friendly demeanor, with a commitment to resident-centered care
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed
