Job Description
The 2D Plant Layout Designer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and validating detailed 2D plant layouts that support production flow, plant constraints, and manufacturing launch activities. This role collaborates closely with engineering, suppliers, and construction teams to ensure layout accuracy, constructability, and compliance with customer CAD standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain overall 2D plant layouts using AutoCAD in alignment with production flow and facility constraints
Integrate drawings and information from suppliers and contractors into master layouts
Release updated layouts on a weekly basis to the core product launch team
Create detailed AutoCAD drawings, including but not limited to:
Conveyor and carrier layouts
Cross-sections and station layouts
Interference, chording, and envelope studies
Perform field checks to identify plant monuments and verify layout accuracy
Provide build and installation drawings to construction and installation teams
Participate in pilot builds and process validation to confirm layout accuracy and resolve design-related issues
Ensure compliance with customer CAD standards, including file naming conventions, layers, and xrefs
Upload, manage, and maintain all layout information in Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
Qualifications
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD
Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive manufacturing or similar industrial environments
Solid knowledge of conveyor types and conveyor components
Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
