Job Description

  • Have an operational responsibility in the day-to-day development, new designs and changes to existing products. Product and procedures are given; however, the work requires experience and the capacity to perform analysis and draw conclusions.
  • Focus on own technical area with no or limited interfaces to other technical areas.
  • Designing (as needed) cooling systems components and sub-components for PWTI -ICE (powertrain installation - internal combustion engines)
  • Designing (as needed) exhaust systems components and sub-components for PWTI -ICE (powertrain installation - internal combustion engines)
  • Ensuring new designs fulfill business targets, requirements and Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Feature targets
  • Front-loading work to ensure robust early-stage releases and stable late stage releases
  • Releasing components as applicable to resolve maintenance issues or secure project deliveries
  • Help to engineer responsible for developing modular systems and components to optimize part diversity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is often preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license may be required in some regions.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on powertrain systems (engines, transmissions, drivetrains, electric motors, hybrid systems, etc.).
  • Proven experience in design, analysis, testing, and integration of powertrain components and systems.
  • Familiarity with vehicle integration, electrical systems, and control systems is a plus, especially in hybrid and electric powertrain systems.

Technical Skills:

  • 3D CAD modeling (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PTC Creo).
  • Proficiency with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for structural and thermal simulations.
  • Experience with powertrain simulation tools (e.g., GT-Power, MATLAB/Simulink, Model-Based Design).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems such as gearing, bearings, lubrication, cooling, and materials specific to powertrain systems.
  • Expertise in component testing, validation, and troubleshooting for powertrain systems.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes related to powertrain components (casting, machining, assembly, etc.).

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
