The Human Resources Director has overall responsibility for the Company’s Human Resources, People Development, Pay & Benefits department. As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), the HRD contributes to the overall business strategy and ensures that all of the departments are aligned to delivering the company strategy. The HRD should always proactively drive our culture and advise the board on any HR implications. Driving and enhancing our employee brand and ensuring that all our staff experience an industry leading employee experience. 

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Promote Securitas and the brand through networking both in the industry and in HR and L&D conferences.   
  • Contribute to the overall running of the Company as a member of the Senior Management Team. 
  • Provide counsel to other members of the SMT on HR matters and developments with HR implications.  
  • Set strategic direction of the combined function in collaboration with key team members whilst ensuring that the day to day HR operations meets the needs of the business in a very efficient manner.  
  • Drive the Securitas culture and values through the business.  
  • Lead the HR & L&D teams inspirationally and ensure that all standards and compliance measures are upheld.  
  • Ensure that the Learning and Development programmes are suitable for our business. Predict future skill needs and ensure that there is a strategic plan in place to develop our own people.  
  • Align the HR and L&D strategy to dove tail the company business plan and have a full commercial understanding of the impact of HR on the wider business result.  
  • Continually measure and improve the impact of HR and L&D on the business results.  
  • Drive change and transformation at pace as required by the business. 
  • Understand the importance and drive shared services with clear KPIS and efficiency through the business.  
  • Build excellent and proactive relationships with the recognised trade union  
  • Any other duties as directed by the Country President.

  • 10+ years of HR experience.  
  • 5+ years of on-site experience as Head of HR/HR Director/HR Manager.  
  • Experience as a member of a local management team.  
  • Responsible for the entire HR function (HRBP, Employee Relations, L&D, Talent, Compensation, and Benefits). 

Qualifications

Person Specifications and Skills:  

  • Educated to degree level and CIPD qualified (ideally a fellow)  
  • An experienced leader of people and demonstrable experience of managing and growing HR teams.  
  • Able to manage multiple demands and implement new ways of working which are creative and innovative.   
  • Strong prioritisation skills, strategic focus and the ability to work under pressure and with an operational focus.  
  • Ability to build strong relationships, coach and change ways of working.  
  • A proven track record in HR project delivery.  
  • Someone who is energised by delivering commercial results, driving change, working at pace, leading flexibility, creativity and with strategic focus.  
  • Ability to set out a clear vision of the HR function which is appropriate to the business’s needs;   
  • Strong awareness of compliance issues within the Security industry, including experience of managing and designing effective processes.  
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, particularly ability to recruit and retain individuals with the right skills set; to develop the team’s talent; deal effectively and decisively with staff management issues; to present and persuade.  
  • Pragmatic employee relations skills, including awareness of legislation and case law  
  • Passionate about the role and determined to drive success; ambition for the function  
  • Extensive experience negotiating with unions and managing HR within the framework of a union framework agreement.   
  • Experience in change management initiatives, including culture change, mergers and acquisitions.  
  • Business acumen, in particular management of an independent budget, and understanding of P+Ls, commercial reasoning.  
  • Collaboration skills – being able to demonstrate evidence of working with and influencing teams, senior management, board members;  
  • Results orientated – Understands the Business’s vision and the move to technology solutions;  
  • Team orientated – Is able to bring a team together
