Job Description

About us

Our Program Excellence team supports clients to feel confident in the planning, delivery and impact of their projects, programs, policies and initiatives.

We help clients navigate risk to deliver business transformation projects and programs, providing confidence and insights into delivery risks and mitigations to support successful outcomes. Clients engage us at any point through a project lifecycle to offer an independent perspective on progress and challenges, and to support capability uplift within project teams and across the organisation.

Our team specialises in key project and program assurance areas such as governance, planning, benefits management and transition to operations, as well as technical aspects such as testing and data migration.

We also provide specialist support in PMO establishment, project and program frameworks, and portfolio investment governance as well as policy program design and evaluation.

About the role

We're expanding our high-performing, mission-driven Program Excellence team to amplify our impact on critical public purpose initiatives.

This role blends program assurance with project and program management capabilities to drive continuous improvement, strengthen accountability, and shape insights that matter.

You will apply your knowledge in portfolio, project, and program management, design, evaluation and assurance through your role as trusted advisor to clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Helping solve client problems by analysing data, conducting research, interviews and then synthesising information.
  • Taking an inquisitive mindset to developing meaningful findings and pragmatic recommendations that will support success in our clients’ most impactful projects.
  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of client engagements; including client interviews and documentation reviews.
  • Managing the timely completion of engagement documentation.
  • Building relationships with clients – and maintaining a network of contacts across the firm - to help deepen our impact on our clients’ most pressing issues.

What we’re looking for

  • 1-5 years’ relevant experience, e.g. a project management, PMO, business analyst or change management role (experience in other roles will also be considered).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions.
  • A proactive mindset and proven ability to quickly pick up new concepts
  • An understanding of technology and its impact on organisations
  • Excellent self-organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to conduct interviews with clients.
  • Good business writing skills, with the ability to convey complex information concisely and effectively.
  • Additional knowledge of quality assurance and testing, and broader technology concepts would be valued.

Qualifications

We are looking for:

  • A bachelor's degree, ideally in a relevant field such as project management, business, or IT, however other fields of study will also be considered.

Additionally we would love it if you have some of the following:

  • Project management certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, Professional Scrum Master or SAFe Agile
  • Previous professional services experience
