Job Description

We need an experienced Quality and Reliability Engineer who understands UFS/eMMC embedded NAND system Design and Firmware algorithms in order to create a Verification plans for implementation.

  • Work closely with the System Architect, System Validation and the Firmware team to understand the Firmware Design and implement the Reliability test cases
  • Develop an overall Quality and Reliability strategy including defining Quality checklists and validation methodology for cross-functional teams to ensure good quality product release.
  • Debug the Firmware failures and expose Design issues
  • Define and design Functional tests required to meet customer needs
  • Review SanDisk UFS/eMMC embedded NAND Quality and Reliability requirements and influence future SanDisk product design for debug and test
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to understand field issues and to enhance the Quality and Reliability coverage
  • Interface with all key stakeholders to ensure product validation meets customer expectations and needs.
  • Oversee and uphold product quality from PRD creation to production handover and sustaining phases.
  • Define, review and align on product quality criteria and milestones for internal and 3rd party developments
  • Perform quality risk assessments on internal and external JIRAs from 3rd party, proactively identifying vulnerabilities
  • Conduct post-mortem reviews and lessons learned analyses on quality challenges during development and sustaining phases.
  • Forecast and address potential quality risks during engineering reviews.

Qualifications

Technical and analytical skills required

  • In depth understanding of Firmware flows used in any NAND Flash based storage devices (SSD, eMMC, UFS, SD, USB Flash drives) or other storage devices
  • Knowledge in any Host protocols like as UFS, eMMC, SCSI, SATA, PCIe, NVMe is an added advantage
  • Experienced and familiar with Firmware development, Integration and validation
  • Knowledgeable on product and quality standards and relevant host protocols, in particular eMMC and UFS.
  • Test coverage methods for real-time embedded systems, especially storage systems and/or NAND storage
  • Able to methodically root cause complex failure mechanism
  • Strong knowledge & debugging skills in Python 
  • Soft skills, Excellent written and verbal skills in English, be a Team player
  • Able to develop key relationships
  • Able to elect requirements from all stakeholders
  • Be able to work in pressure for quick resolution and delivery.

 Experience required

  • Overall 10+ years of experience with minimum 7+ years in storage related segments
  • Worked with international teams and understands the cross-culture
