Sacré-Davey is an engineering consulting company providing engineering and project management services in North Vancouver, BC and Calgary, Alberta. We offer our clients professional advice and technical expertise to help improve the return on their investment.

Sacré-Davey currently has several openings for Structural Engineers-in-Training. These position will be primarily focused on industrial sector with heavy civil structural components. We will be offering both permanent and temporary opportunities.

Ideal candidates will have a strong degree of initiative, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a dedication to accuracy in their work. The persons in this position will work closely with senior engineers and other EITs to complete various projects and will report to the Structural Department Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Checks and reviews drawings for compliance with established codes, standards, and specifications; provides design advice and support to designers and drafters.
• Prepares reports and other technical documentation as required by clientele.
• Communicates and coordinates with other team members, including managers, engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Travels to client sites to perform field work as required.
• Communicates with vendors and contractors.
• Provides general project coordination services.
• Understands and implements all relevant systems, standards, practices, and procedures as required.
• Maintains health, safety and environmental focus to ensure that these elements are embedded in the design and procurement processes.
• Responsible for continuing education as required by APEGBC.

• Engineering degree in Structural/ Civil Engineering from a recognized institution is required.
• Registered or eligible to register as an EIT with APEGBC.
• Previous experience as an EIT (up to 2 years) is an asset but not required.
  
• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with team members; proficient in oral and written English.
• Proactive with a high degree of initiative.
• Highly organized, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
