Job Description

SUMMARY: Plan, coordinate, and manage projects for machine modernization and/or new equipment from Sales handoff to installation, final acceptance of equipment and handoff to Customer Support.  Monitor and control schedules, manage costs (labor, materials, etc) to achieve on-time and on-budget objectives.  Provide leadership and technical guidance to a cross-functional project team.   Be primary customer contact through the life of the project.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Project Manger will serve as key contact and consultant to Application Engineering and/or Customer Support during project quotation stages.

2.      After purchase order is received and project is handed off, PM will plan, develop and maintain work schedules, hours and costs for projects.

  • Generate monthly financial forecasts.
  • Maintain on-time delivery, budget and customer satisfaction objectives from project development through installation.
  • Coordinate resources, schedules and deliverables with appropriate departments and functional managers. 

3.      Serve as leader of cross-functional teams involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Assembly, Materials, Sales, etc. developing plans and pro-actively resolving any project issues.

4.      Coordinate the quotation and implementation of any change orders.  Work with project team and department managers to develop quotes.   Communicate with customers to reach decisions regarding scope/cost/delivery impact of change orders.

5.      Coordinate functional machine tests prior to customer visits, including de-bug and internal testing.  Work with customers to develop schedule and scope of their testing protocols (i.e., Factory Acceptance Test).  Coordinate customer inspection and acceptance visits and post-FAT punch lists.

6.      Perform post project review and formal hand off to Customer Support when project complete.

7.      Actively participate in efforts for Continuous Improvement of processes.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Must have a minimum of 3+ years of project management and team leadership experience 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred
  • 3-5 years of custom machine design
  • Automated machinery emphasis on aftermarket modifications preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Direct customer interaction experience preferred
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service focus
  • Strong people management and demonstrated team leadership abilities
  • Strong technical (mechanical/electrical) skills related to high-speed packaging equipment
  • Solid understanding of GMP’s and aseptic processing techniques
