We provide a fulsome orientation to set you up for success, and ongoing opportunities to grow your skills and take on specialized roles. Every day is different — and every day you make a difference. If you were working for us as an Music Therapist , here are some of the things you would have done:
- Provide 10.5 hours of musical therapy services per week
- Understand and support the Home's philosophy and Residents’ Rights.
- Communicate regularly with the Manager Life Enrichment.
- Complete assessment of residents referred through the Life Enrichment Department. Through assessment determine if Music Therapy is appropriate or not in meeting the needs of the Resident.
- Recommend Resident for either Individual or Small Group Sessions as determined through assessment and consultation with Life Enrichment Team.
- Formulate Music Therapy Treatment Plans, stating goals and objectives for Residents. Residents in Group Programs must share the goals and objectives of the Group Treatment Plan. Individual Treatment Plans are devised specifically for the Individual Resident.
- Carry out Music Therapy Treatment Plan in scheduled sessions.
- Update daily schedule as needed in consultation with Manager Life Enrichment
- Must have own transportation to home
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Music Therapy Degree (BMT) from an accredited university.
- Successful completion of a six month (1000 hour) clinical internship under the supervision of a Music Therapist Accredited (MTA).
- Self-motivated with advanced organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external persons
- Advanced proficiency with Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
